About Us

Wellington Zinefest is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation that hosts two zinefests a year in Wellington (Te Whanganui-a-Tara), Aotearoa.
We also run workshops and events throughout the year to support local zine culture.

I’m the old grey zinester on the Wellington Zinefest organising committee. I bring beer. Zines are great, even when they’re bad, they’re still kinda great. When Joseph Beuys said, ‘Everyone is an artist,’ he must have been talking about Zinefest.

Do you have 5 minutes to hear about the good word of Zines? My goal is to spread the zine love as far and wide as possible. And being part of the zinefest crew helps me succeed in my mission.

I like ephemera and stuff like zines that people dont always think will last that tells a story about that moment in time. Zinefest is also wholesome as so I like to help make it happen.

Making is one of the most best things we can do with our time, and it fosters such connection! I love making things with friends; with particular adoration for the cheap / niche / weird.
