HISTORY

In this tutorial, local zinemaker Charlotte Page shares a thoughtful exploration of the history of zines, inquires what exactly a zine is, and covers key periods in zinemaking.

Charlotte's tutorial features classic zines like Cometbus and Sniffin' Glue, but also explores contemporary online libraries and recommendations for other zine media.

ASSIGNMENT

Make a small infozine on the history of anything NZ-related which you’re passionate about.

I recommend including some photos or illustrations for visual interest.

Remember to put your handle/s on the back of the zine, and type or write using an easy-to-read font!

The local zine series 'Pocket Histories of Aotearoa New Zealand' are a great example of historical infozines. Zinemaker Will Hansen shares his process in his Skill Vid - Watch Here
