Code of Conduct

We want Wellington Zinefest to be an inclusive event where people who enjoy the craft of zine making can share that passion with others. The spirit of Zinefest is one of collaboration and community, and as such we aim to foster an environment where everyone participating is treated with respect and kindness, regardless of their race, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, age or physical ability.
We’re dedicated to ensuring that Zinefest is a positive and safe experience for everyone involved, and we pass on the expectation to all vendors and attendees to uphold that. If for any reason someone violates that during one of our events, and you feel you are made unsafe or uncomfortable, please let one of us know and we will deal with the situation accordingly.
Wellington Zinefest does not tolerate any kind of harassment. Any vendors or attendees that participate in any sort of behaviour that constitutes as harassment, including offensive comments, stalking, unwanted physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention will be asked to stop the inappropriate behaviour and to comply immediately when asked. This may also include being asked to leave the event and banning from future Zinefest events.
By paying the stall fare, all zine vendors will recognise and agree to these conditions. If you are distributing material that some may be considered offensive or discriminatory by a patron or zine vendor, you may be asked to leave. We cannot vet all zines and other distributed material by vendors prior to or on the day of the event.
If you are aware of anyone who intends to distribute offensive or discriminatory material, purposefully or otherwise, please do not hesitate to get in contact with us. If you have any concerns about the event or the comfort and safety of yourself or anyone you know attending the event, please contact us.

The code of conduct is implemented not only for Wellington Zinefest markets, but also all of our other events and projects.
